At the end of the the week when I am finally paid after the financial raping from December and January I will be upgrading to supporter status! This annoying ads will finally be banished. I'm rather excited and may even treat myself to some new gear while I am at it.

It's worth it. The in-game ads might still pop-up, and google still has it's search tendrils in NG, but it's for a fine cause. They send you a free postcard and sticker with every mailable purchase.
Yeah I remember getting stickers and a postcard when I brought a t shirt a few years ago. I may get myself a tankman figure this time.
